The Indian Air Force defends and guards Indian airspace from threats of air aggression from other countries, from possible terrorist attacks and from unauthorized use of Indian airspace by any aircraft or unmanned vehicles (such as drones). In addition to its main mission of protecting and securing Indian airspace, the Indian Air Force is also capable of performing rapid evacuation, search and rescue operations, and delivering cargo to remote areas or affected areas due to natural disasters or other disasters.
